Welcome to Reach Volunteering. We are a community and registered charity that connects people, skills and good causes.

To apply for this role, and any other on our platform, you need to be based in the UK, have at least three years of experience using the skills you wish to volunteer in a professional capacity or have lived experience (for trustee roles). Read more about our criteria.

An opportunity to join a well established arts organisation which seeks to explore how creativity can bring delight and improve self-confidence and wellbeing.  We aim to reach young and old who don't usually have access to such opportunities.

What will you be doing?

The organisation is in a period of transition and we are looking for someone who can help us to shape the future of the charity.  We are seeking a Trustee who has experience in the financial sector, ideally a qualified accountant, with knowledge of charity accounts preferred. Candidates must be able to provide financial acumen to the Board and advise on annual budgets, performance relative to budget, financial risks associated with project proposals, and reserves policy.  We are seeking someone who will provide professional insight into the financial implications of forthcoming Board decisions.

What are we looking for?

We are seeking a Trustee who has experience in the financial sector, ideally a qualified accountant, with knowledge of charity accounts preferred. Ability to chair Finance meetings and present the Annual Accounts at the AGM. Good, independent judgement and a willingness to speak their mind. Knowledge of the arts sector is not an essential criterion. However, enjoyment of theatre and the arts as an audience member is desirable.

What difference will you make?

The organisation has a small Board of Trustees, so every member plays a vital role in overseeing and guiding the organisation.  Together, we are working to sustain a small, but important arts organisation which does valuable work in communities.

Before you apply

We do not have an application form but are willing to have an informal on-line or in person conversation with potential applicants.
