Sons and Daughters of the King as a Trustee and make a lasting impact on the lives of survivors of abuse, human trafficking, and exploitation. Help shape a compassionate, faith-driven organisation dedicated to transforming lives and communities.

What will you be doing?

We are seeking a trustee with expertise in governance, financial management, legal knowledge, or strategic planning. Experience in fundraising, nonprofit management, or social work is also highly valued. As we aim to strengthen our organizational structure, we need trustees who bring strategic thinking, empathy, and dedication to our mission of supporting survivors of abuse, exploitation, and trafficking. Your skills will help ensure Sons and Daughters of the King operates effectively, ethically, and sustainably as we expand our reach and services.

We are committed to fostering a diverse board that reflects the communities we serve. We strongly encourage individuals from underrepresented backgrounds to apply, including those with lived experience of abuse, trafficking, or exploitation. A diverse board enriches our decision-making and brings a broader range of perspectives, allowing us to create more inclusive, culturally sensitive, and impactful services.

A trustee plays a critical role in the governance of Sons and Daughters of the King. Trustees are responsible for guiding the organization’s strategic direction, ensuring compliance with legal and financial obligations, and upholding our mission and values. They work collaboratively to make key decisions that shape the future of our services and advocacy efforts.

This trustee role requires approximately 4-6 hours per month, including attendance at monthly board meetings and occasional strategy sessions or special events. Trustees are expected to engage actively in discussions, contribute their expertise to decision-making, and support the organization’s growth. This commitment also includes preparation for meetings and occasional involvement in specific projects or initiatives aligned with your skills.

Interested candidates can learn more about our mission, impact, and the role of a trustee by visiting our profile on Reach Volunteering. Additional information about Sons and Daughters of the King, our projects, and our goals can also be provided upon request.

How to apply for the role:

To apply, please submit your expression of interest through the Reach Volunteering platform, including a brief outline of your experience and motivation for joining our board. We look forward to hearing how you can contribute to our vision and help shape the future of Sons and Daughters of the King.

What are we looking for?

We are seeking experienced trustees with expertise in areas such as public relations, financial management, fundraising, governance, safeguarding, and property management. Ideal candidates will have a proven track record in building awareness and engagement, managing finances and budgets, organizing successful fundraising events, upholding strong governance standards, implementing safeguarding policies, and overseeing property or facility management. This experience will be invaluable in strengthening our foundation and expanding our impact for survivors.

What difference will you make?

As a trustee, you will play a key role in shaping our strategic direction and ensuring Sons and Daughters of the King fulfils its mission to restore hope and rebuild lives for survivors of abuse, exploitation, and human trafficking. Your contributions will be essential in helping us maintain sustainability, expand our services, and advocate for meaningful change.

This position offers a unique opportunity to apply your skills to drive the charity’s growth and impact. For those stepping into the Treasurer role, you will not only oversee our financial health but also help shape our vision for future development, aligning our financial practices with our mission and long-term goals.

Your leadership on our board will directly impact our ability to provide essential support to vulnerable individuals, empowering them to find safety, healing, and dignity. Together, we can make a lasting difference in their lives.

Before you apply

To apply, please submit your expression of interest through the Reach Volunteering platform, including a brief outline of your experience and motivation for joining our board. We prefer candidates with an enhanced DBS check.

Once we receive your application, we will be in touch as soon as possible to arrange an interview. If you’re selected to join our board, we’ll then send you the necessary forms to complete the onboarding process.
