Come and share in our success as a trustee of Enrych Bucks - helping us to make a real difference to the lives of people with disabilities. We enable people to pursue a leisure, or social activity, through a volunteer partnership.

What will you be doing?

Come and share in our success as a trustee of Enrych Bucks and help to make a real difference to the lives of people with disabilities.

The charity is very cost-effective with no offices or administrative staff, and a team of just three part-time workers. We receive funding from trusts and local authorities. Since 2011 the number of people we help has grown from 50 to more than 400. In 2017 we extended our work to include Milton Keynes where we are building a flourishing presence.

If you share our concern for people with disabilities, have experience of health and social care issues and would like to be part of our informal and cheerful group who enjoy overseeing the management and direction of Enrych Bucks, get in touch with us.

Practical Considerations:

Our trustees meet nearly every month, for an hour or so in the early evening, generally in Weston Turville on a Tuesday.

About Enrych Buckinghamshire:

Enrych Bucks' purpose is to live up to its name, and its foundation in Leonard Cheshire and Sue Ryder's vision, to enrich the lives of adults with a physical or sensory disability. We enable each of our members to pursue a leisure, learning, sporting or social activity of their choice, by encouraging a partnership with a volunteer who shares the member’s specific interests. We set up our own interest groups run by volunteers e.g. photography, Tai Chi, crafts - and social meeting groups.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for an experienced professional; our ideal trustee will be forward-looking, person-centred and enjoy making strategic decisions. They will care about the needs and aspirations of people with disabilities, and be committed to improving the quality of life for disabled people. In addition, they will:

  • Provide vision and leadership
  • Think strategically, considering the future challenges and opportunities (range of activities, programmes and any campaigns)
  • Play an active role in major decision making
  • Promote the success of Enrych for the benefit of its members
  • Exercise independent judgment
  • Work to ensure the financial stability of the branch
  • Work effectively in the team
  • Review the performance of the branch and contribute to its improvement
  • Time to fulfil the duties of the role
  • Willingness to speak their mind
