0-5 hours / month, 0-3 hours / week or short term project: 15-90 hours, completed within 4 months
There are 4-6 trustee meetings per year. Then there is attending events and supporting the charity for short projects.

What will you be doing?

We are looking for a trustee with digital skills. We need support looking at our digital strategy and supporting the board in understanding our digital ambitions.

We are looking for someone with a strong enthusiasm for Settle Stories, what it does, and its future ambitions; also a  commitment to its vision and values; The ability to bring new networks of engagement to the charity to expand its footprint in Yorkshire and the North of England and to help with the attraction of new supporters and profile locally, nationally and/or internationally;  A good understanding of the principles of corporate governance; Integrity, relevant experience and the ability to contribute effectively as a Board member.

Trustees take ultimate responsibility for the work that the organisation does, and the way in which it spends money given by donors, to achieve its aims. It is a big responsibility, focusing on the strategic direction of the organisation, agreeing plans and budgets, and holding the Executive Team to account for the delivery of the plans.

Trustee Attributes and Skills

What are we looking for?

We're looking for some with strong digital skills. Who can advise on how we can our digital development. Because of Covid-19 we have moved our biannual festival online and are drawing a worldwide audience. When the festival finishes in August we want someone with Digital Skills who can help us capitalise on our successes.

We want to be able to deliver more digitally, advice and support in how to achieve this would be welcomed.

What difference will you make?

  • This role would help us to work more efficiently and therefore reach more people. 
  • We want to deliver more work digitally and this would enable us to reach more beneficiaries.
