Havering Volunteer Centre are seeking community minded individuals to strengthen our Trustee Board to reflect the needs of the community and help HVC grow and become more sustainable for future development enabling volunteering in Havering.

What will you be doing?

Be a part of something great for your community, enhance and strengthen volunteering prospects in Havering by adding value to our board of trustees, to address the volunteering infrastructure within our borough and to sustain volunteering across Havering.

Havering Volunteer Centre is a small but strong charity that puts the community at the heart of what it does. We need individuals to be part our board of trustees to add skills and depth to reflect the needs of our community.  HVC needs to be sustainable to enable growth to be responsive to community action. HVC aims to support and encourage volunteering, promoting equality of access to volunteer opportunities for all in Havering. HVC works in collaboration with organisations to develop volunteering opportunities, ensuring high standards in volunteer management and strengthening the voluntary sector in Havering.

The board wish to strengthen the organisation with good governance, fundraising and being the centre of volunteering excellence.  We need individuals that will bring ideas, suggestions and solutions to enable our vision, mission and aims.  The board meet bi-monthly and attend sub-committee meetings on the alternate bi-monthly meeting.  We need individuals with strong community ethos willing to play a major part on the development of our organisation.  It would be good if you have working within the voluntary sector or been a volunteer previously have some business knowledge or being part of a committee previously.

What are we looking for?

We need individuals willing to play a part on developing this organisation and keep us stable to deal with all volunteering neds for the future. If you have community knowledge, able to converse easily with diverse groups, think strategically and adapt and share your skills for the greater good of others.  If you have in the past had leadership responsibilities or planning events knowledge this would be an advantage.  Also analytical skills and ideas and suggestions.

As part of the Trustee Board you will help shape and support the work undertaken in a more strategic direction and help achieve our vision, mission and aims.  HVC is an award winning centre of volunteering excellence having been recognised on several occasions for the work undertaken in the community. HVC champions the voluntary sector and volunteering by connecting, representing and supporting voluntary organisations. Our services include training, consultancy, information, resources and toolkits on governance, campaigning, strategy, impact and volunteer recruitment and retention.

Being part of the Trustee board is a vital role ensuring we can continue to support the voluntary sector in Havering and individuals engage into volunteering.  As a Trustee you will have the opportunity to offer your skills and expertise to the progression of HVC. 

Enhancing the Trustee board is so important to us, help shape the future of HVC and drive us forward fulfilling our vision for the turue.

Having a strong board of trustees will enable  us to continue to deliver much needed support to our community.
