Welcome to Reach Volunteering. We are a community and registered charity that connects people, skills and good causes.

To apply for this role, and any other on our platform, you need to be based in the UK, have at least three years of experience using the skills you wish to volunteer in a professional capacity or have lived experience (for trustee roles). Read more about our criteria.

We are looking for a motivated leader to grow and shape our network of chapters across England and Wales. If you have experience in volunteering, business, or strategic leadership, we want to hear from you!

What will you be doing?

About us:

We are part of Cycling Without Age (CWA) a global non-profit initiative that offers free trishaw rides to older adults and those with mobility difficulties. Our mission is to bring people together, reduce loneliness, and improve well-being through these rides.

CWA England is a relatively small national organisation. We support local chapters and help new ones start. Due to the current low number of Chapters within Wales, these Chapters can have access to support and network within CWA England.

Our priorities until February 2025:

  • Recruit a high-profile national patron.
  • Due to low levels of existing funds we need to explore funding opportunities so that we are able grow and offer grants to chapters in need.
  • Create a repository of key policies and procedures for our chapters.

Your Role:

  • Collaborate with trustees to guide our collective direction.
  • Lead trustee meetings and open forums, keeping records accessible.
  • Maintain communication between CWA England and our chapters.
  • Support collaboration among chapters.
  • Address risks that could impact CWA England or our international community.
  • Help build our national presence through different media channels.

What are we looking for?

About You:

  • You might already be involved with a CWA chapter in England or Wales, or you have a background in volunteering, business, and strategic leadership.
  • You're ready to commit about 10-15 hours a month for at least a year, all on a voluntary basis.
  • You're a great leader and communicator, able to work well with fellow trustees and chapter members across England and Wales.
  • You're organised and reliable, ensuring we meet all our governance and legal requirements.
  • You're excited to help shape our national profile through various media.

Don’t worry if you don’t tick every box, if you are excited about this opportunity, we’d love to hear from you!

What difference will you make?

As Chairperson, you will make a big difference. Your leadership will help us grow and reach more people. You will help us develop national strategies, support local chapters, and raise our profile. Your work will lead to more older adults and those with mobility difficulties enjoying our trishaw rides and feeling more connected in their communities.

Before you apply

Please contact us via Reach if you have any questions.

If you would like to apply we invite you to submit an Expression of Interest, please write up to 800 words about your skills, knowledge, and your vision for helping CWA England achieve its goals.

If you are shortlisted we will invite you to an informal chat with our trustees.
