The Market Place has decades of experience supporting young people aged 11-25 who live or study in Leeds to improve their social, emotional and mental health.
We are seeking a new Trustee with legal experience to join our Board.
This is an opportunity to bring your legal knowledge and experience to benefit young people in Leeds whilst supporting our charity in a broader capacity as one of our small team of dedicated Trustees.
The Market Place would particularly welcome expressions of interest from applicants who will broaden the diversity of our board. You do not need to have experience of working with young people.
You will be joining The Market Place during a period of transition following huge reductions in public sector funding. The charity restructured last summer to operate on a smaller scale and is diversifying its income in part through a new trading arm which will provide paid-for therapy for adults.
Legal experience is essential for this role.
As a trustee you will help to ensure The Market Place works effectively and safely and functions well as a charity and limited company.
Your legal skills and knowledge are vital to the progress of The Market Place at this critical juncture.
The role is an opportunity to enhance your skills and experience of strategic decision making as well as making a positive difference to many young people’s lives through the work of the charity.
To apply, please provide a written expression of interest of up to 500 words explaining why you would like to be a Trustee at The Market Place. Your statement should set out the relevant skills and experience you would bring to the role.
For an informal discussion about the role, please contact us via Reach.
The deadline for expressions of interest is 1pm on 26th Feb 2025.
