Carrs Lane Counselling Centre is a Birmingham based charity providing low-cost counselling to those who cannot otherwise gain access to help.We are looking for a volunteer trustee to augment and add value to the existing Board of Trustees.
Carrs Lane Counselling Centre has a well-deserved reputation for delivering high quality low cost counselling to the people of Birmingham and surrounding areas who are unable to access counselling due to cost/availability of services. We deliver person-centred counselling via volunteer counsellors who provide their expertise on a pro-bono basis. Like many charities we could do more if we had the resources and have a waiting list for appointments that is longer than we would like. Our major short-term but ever-present challenge is money and our medium term challenge is to find and equip a new counselling facility, our current site being scheduled for redevelopment over a period of around four years beginning in 2026.
We are looking to recruit an additional Trustee to further strengthen the level of business expertise on the Board.
Experience of:
At a time when mental health issues are on the increase due to a number of factors including post-COVID, cost of living etc, our services are needed more and more in assisting people back into work and coping with daily living.
Your impact and expertise will be crucial in equipping the Board to meet the challenges of an increasingly financially difficult funding environment where many charities have had to curtail activities or cease operations.
Please apply through Reach in the first instance. Shortlisted candidates will be asked to complete our additional application form.
Interviews will be an informal chat with the Chair of Trustees
