Proper Job Resource Centre team have ambitious plans for the future & are working towards a large build project. We are looking to recruit professional board members to guide the project strategically.
After over two decades of operation and gradual growth, the Resource Centre is now struggling to cope and is no longer fit for purpose. A collection of temporary buildings have sprung up to respond to immediate demand as it’s presented itself, many of which are now in a state of disrepair, without much of the fundamental infrastructure, such as mains water or sewage disposal, that are essential to its successful ongoing operation. The health and safety of staff and customers is becoming an increasing concern. In response to these concerns, the Proper Job Trustees have determined that there now needs to be a strategic and holistic approach to growth that includes refurbishing and replacing much of the site. Planning permission was submitted in January 2020 and we are waiting for the results.
The Proper Job board of Trustees meet monthly to discuss the strategic direction of the charity. We are looking for experienced professionals with expertise areas such as fundraising, project management, governance, finance and HR.
Proper Job is a locally rooted Charity and has gained a lot of support from the local community. We would like to take this opportunity to branch out and source experience and expertise from outside the immediate local area. We expect trustees to have a good relationship and support our CEO to ensure that we are achieving our objectives as a charity.
Your role as a Trustee will be to bring experience and expertise to help to steer the charity in the right direction.
We are looking for someone who can support fundraising and project management with a critical financial overview.
We are embarking on an ambitious project and we need support and experience to guide us through.
We are a really friendly and committed team, the project was set up by the Chagford community for the Chagford community. You could help us to make a difference, we are a flagship project and often have other organisations contacting us for advice on how to set up similar projects. If we can create a solid foundation project we can grow and increase out impact nationally.
