Trustees needed for the Woolwich Creative District Trust. An existing regeneration and cultural project on the site of the Royal Arsenal in the Royal Borough of Greenwich
The Woolwich Creative District Trust is seeking to recruit trustees with specific skills to join the existing board under the chair of Valerie Vaughan-Dick (currently CEO of the Royal College of GPs). They will share in the collective responsibility for overseeing the development and growth of this major new regeneration and cultural project on the site of the Royal Arsenal in the Royal Borough of Greenwich.
Five large-scale listed buildings are being adapted to deliver the place-making vision of a nationally significant and internationally acclaimed cultural destination, helping to transform the image of Woolwich as a vibrant and exciting place to live and visit. The complex will accommodate an ambitious combination of performance and rehearsal venues, dance studios, exhibition areas, event spaces, workshops and community spaces, supported by back-of-house functions and public facilities. Resident companies will mix with visiting theatre groups, orchestras, dance companies, community users, visual artists and others. The size and ambition of the scheme are socially and economically important for the immediate locality but are equally significant for London and beyond. Resident companies already identified are Punchdrunk, the Chineke! Orchestra, Protein Dance and a number of local organisations.
