Either in or out of office hours Board meetings are bi-monthly, meetings are held in Redhill at the organisation, ad hoc support may be required between meetings.

We are seeking Trustees to join our friendly and committed board

What will you be doing?

Main duties and responsibilities:

● Actively contributing to setting policy and strategic direction, defining goals, setting targets and evaluating performance.

● Actively seeking to further the strategic objectives of ESDAS, and acting in the best interests of the organisation at all time.

● Monitoring whether the service complies with its governing document and how well the needs of the beneficiaries are being met.

● Monitoring the financial position of the organisation and ensuring that it operates within its means and objects, and that there are clear lines of accountability for day-to-day financial management.

● Supporting the development of the organisation through participation in agreed projects.

What are we looking for?

Each trustee brings their own skills, experiences and qualities to the board. They add to the collective knowledge and experience by providing:

  • Commitment to the aims, principles and policies of ESDAS.
  • Willingness and ability to understand and accept their responsibilities and liabilities as trustees, and to act in the best interests of the organisation.
  • Ability to think creatively and strategically, exercise good, independent judgement, and work effectively as a board member.
  • Effective communication skills and willingness to participate actively in discussion.
  • Willingness to gain knowledge of the beneficiaries’ needs and resources that are available to deliver services.

We are particularly interested in candidates with the following skills:

  • Finance
  • Tender and commissioning services in the third sector
  • HR
  • Legal
  • Marketing/PR
  • Digital
