The Prison Phoenix Trust seeks new Trustees to help expand our ability to support people in prison. We are a small dynamic charity awarded Yoga Charity of the Year for our devotion to supporting marginalised people through yoga and meditation
We are looking for people who understand and support the aims and principles of The PPT to share responsibility for the strategic direction and governance of the charity.
We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates with:
- lived experience of the prison environment - those who have served a prison sentence or who have worked in prisons
- a legal qualification, for example, a specialism in charity law, able to provide legally informed guidance as issues arise
- a particular interest in prevailing government, political, media and cultural debate around prison policy, monitoring and providing the Board with informed reporting of the current landscape
- demonstrable experience and knowledge of charity fundraising strategy including an understanding of trusts, foundations and private donors
As a Trustee your expertise and insight can help make a lasting difference. You will be joining a friendly team of Trustees, volunteers and paid staff to help support a unique and effective organisation that offers hope and support to people who live and work in prison.
- Please apply through Reach in the first instance. Shortlisted candidates will be asked to complete our additional application form
- Interviews will be in May via Zoom at times and dates to be agreed with candidates
