Visitors from Fifth Day

Welcome to Reach Volunteering. We are a community and registered charity that connects people, skills and good causes.

To apply for this role, and any other on our platform, you need to be based in the UK, have at least three years of experience using the skills you wish to volunteer in a professional capacity or have lived experience (for trustee roles). Read more about our criteria.

We've just launched our new strategy and seek a trustee with passion for, and expertise in, people and organisational development to ensure our core foundations remain dynamic, developmental and efficient as we grow with impact.

What will you be doing?

Envision has nearly doubled in size over the last 3-4 years while also driving a mission anchored in impact. To support our recent growth with impact, we developed our first ever People Plan. Our new strategy builds on this, and our new People Plan is designed to help us attract and develop a strong, diverse and high performing team; strengthen SMT leadership and effectiveness; and ensure our skills and values are embedded and we remain a great place to work.

To help support this plan, we seek a trustee that can help support the development and roll out of this work, bringing both insights and challenge to this critical pillar.

We seek a trustee who brings both high-level people leadership and expertise to help guide strategy and priorities, but also the breadth of knowledge to advise or signpost on more granular issues around employment norms, legal considerations and organisational structure & culture.

This trustee would provide a missing  - but complementary! - component to our Board structure and support our amazing senior leadership team in particular. Our people and organisational strength are foundational to our mission and success - and you can help us achieve both!

What are we looking for?

Ideally, we seek someone who has worked as a Chief People Officer or People Director, who brings a passion for helping make organisations successful by also making them great places to work and develop while staying true to mission and values.

We are always looking to learn from what’s worked and improve on what could be better. So support in improving our approach to people - to equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging; to personal and professional development; to managing a team across geographies; to building cohesion and alignment – is also something we seek.

An understanding of the nuts and bolts of People and HR frameworks and practices in the UK is also a bonus.

Finally we hope our new trustee would feel connected and committed to our values - Drive Change, Bring People Together, Reflect and Learn, Value Everyone and Keep It Fun!

What difference will you make?

At Envision, our Board and leadership team are aligned around the critical importance of organisational strength and people development – which is why it forms one of the 4 main streams of our next three-year plan.

It is a core pillar of our strategy and success, and reflection of our values but also a key area of risk, especially as we grow across different regions in the UK and grow in complexity.

This trustee role is a vital one for us – helping us to ensure we have experienced and insightful support as we develop our People and organisational plans but also shaping our wider strategic direction and choices.

Before you apply
