What will you be doing?

The current Board are looking for enthusiastic individuals with special skills and wide-ranging experience who enjoy finding solutions. Whether you are an experienced Trustee or are considering becoming one, we would like to hear from you.

What are we looking for?

Essential personable attributes

  • Commitment to the object and values of the charity as set out in the charity’s constitution including a willingness and enthusiasm to bring to the Board’s attention forward new artistic ideas, to champion new initiatives and to support artistic creativity.
  • Ability to demonstrate a high degree of integrity, honesty and personal and professional         credibility to engender trust and inspire colleagues and, where appropriate, external stakeholders.
  • Independence of thought, open- mindedness and sound judgement with willingness to accept and promote democratically made decisions of the Board of Trustees irrespective of opinion
  • An effective communicator, ambassador and team player.
  • Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage people of all ages, levels, backgrounds and disciplines.
  • Willingness and ability to devote the necessary time and effort to the role.

Experience

  • The Board is aiming to find new trustees with some of the following experience and expertise as follows:
  • Board, Committee or equivalent experience
  • Experience of strategic planning
  • Governance and risk management experience
  • Experience in working in or overseeing general accounting, financial reporting and performance management in the charity sector
  • Experience of property management
  • Stakeholder management experience
  • Fundraising and grant application experience
  • Experience in the oversight process of the ‘safeguarding and prevent’ and ‘health and safety’ policies and procedures.
