Welcome to Reach Volunteering. We are a community and registered charity that connects people, skills and good causes.

RESPONSE is looking for three Trustees with experience in any of the following areas: Social or Supported Housing, Human Resources, Public Relations and Mental Health to become a Trustee.

What will you be doing?

In every part of our society, from classrooms to boardrooms and from football pitches to building sites, more people need more support for their mental health and well-being. At Response, we are rising to the challenge and putting the person first. We need you to help us achieve that.

RESPONSE is looking for three Trustees with experience in any of the following areas: Social or Supported Housing, Human Resources, Public Relations and Mental Health to become a Trustee. You would  play a vital role in the running of our fantastic organisation through contributing to and ensuring effective delivery of our strategy. A genuine interest and commitment to the organisation's Mission, Values and Strategic Goals is essential along with an understanding of compliance, risk management and control of processes.

For over 50 years, RESPONSE has been pioneering mental health and wellbeing services that enable individuals to live the fulfilled lives they deserve.  We have grown significantly in the last five years and now support over 400 adults with serious mental illness and hundreds of Young People with mental health and wellbeing across West Berkshire, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire (BOB).

Our values are Caring, Creative, Safe and Aspirational.  We’re CARING- we connect with each other on a human level and believe in the power of conversation. The human warmth of our 230 colleagues translates to the work they do to support others, and is ultimately why we’re one of the leading providers of mental health support. Do you also possess these qualities and have a genuine desire to make a difference?

As a large and growing organisation, we need Trustees who can invest a suitable amount of time, on a flexible basis, each month. As a guide, a Trustee could be investing around 6 hours a month to RESPONSE (in addition to the formal board meetings, which take place bi-monthly). However, if you are unable to commit to this time, we would still like to speak to you about what you can offer!

What difference will you make?

Trustees have the responsibility for directing the affairs of Response and ensuring that it’s solvent, well managed and delivering the outcomes for which it has been set up. The three particular duties of a trustee are to monitor compliance, care and prudence (as set out by the Charity Commission).

As part of our board you will support and shape our work and strategic direction, as well as help us achieve our purpose to support adults with serious mental illness and complex needs to live as independently as possible by providing recovery-focused support within the community and our supported housing properties.
