Mind of the Student (MOTS) is on the lookout for a passionate and dynamic Trustee to join our Board. This exciting opportunity will allow you to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our organisation.

What will you be doing?

Commitment Requirements

  • In-person, quarterly Board meetings which take place in September, December, March and June at Bower Park Academy, Romford.
  • Additional meetings may take place in between quarterly Board meetings.
  • 2-4 hours per month, average time commitment required.

Trustees support the Chair in ensuring the good governance and financial sustainability of the charity; they will contribute to its strategic development, and share their specific areas of knowledge, experience, and expertise to enhance all that we do.

Person Specification

The Board meets quarterly. In addition, Trustees may be expected to participate in more frequent finance committee meetings and other meetings on an as-needed basis in a governance role.

  • You will have a passion for mental health education and supporting young people.
  • You will understand how to ignite the passion in others.
  • You will bring specific knowledge and expertise that contributes to our growing organisation.

We are particularly interested to hear from people who:

  • Have significant experience and understanding of the mental health and education sectors.
  • Have experience of leading and managing growth and change.
  • Have experience in any of the following areas: legal, financial, education, community engagement, HR, research, fundraising, strategic planning, marketing, and communications.
  • Can broaden and deepen the diversity of thought and experience represented in our organisation. We aim to represent and reflect the diverse communities that our services support.
  • Previous experience as a Trustee is desirable but not essential.

  • Charity Governance
  • Charity Fundraising
  • Finance
  • Mental Health and Education
