Your specific skills and experience will add value to our Group enabling those with disabilities to develop life skills while providing you with a new outlet to use and develop them
The object of the Riding for the Disabled Association is to give the opportunity for therapy, achievement and enjoyment to people with disabilities who may benefit in their general health and well-being through riding and carriage driving.
Bradbourne Riding for the Disabled (RDA) Group is one of the largest RDA groups in the UK and has been operating for sixty years. It is based at the Bradbourne Riding and Training Centre outside Sevenoaks and is entirely run by 130 volunteers. There are no paid staff in any role.
Bradbourne RDA operates every weekday and three evenings a week with riders from the local area starting from age four and a half. Carriage driving takes place twice a week. As well as individual riders and drivers, several local special needs schools ride with the Group during the day as part of their curriculum, and there are over 200 riders and carriage drivers participating in over 3000 riding and driving activities each year.
The Bradbourne RDA Group is registered for dressage, endurance, and show jumping, and regularly participates in local, regional, and national RDA events, local shows and fund raising activities.
Bradbourne RDA Group is an incorporated charity with a management committee consisting of trustee directors which meets regularly throughout the year.
We are now seeking to appoint Trustees to strengthen the expertise of its board, and in particular those experienced professionals able to take a lead to ensure Bradbourne RDA Group can focus on developing our promotional strategy, utilising a range of online platforms and current technologies to publicise the amazing achievements of those with disabilities and special needs when provided with opportunities in a safe environment supported by trained volunteers, and encourage new donors, supporters and volunteers.
We are keen to talk to those who have developed and applied skills in areas such as graphic design, illustration and photography to create impactful physical, website and online marketing campaigns or promotional materials used for business development, sales or more general publicity over several years in any sector who are seeking the opportunity to utilise their professional experience within an organisation which empowers those with disabilities to have a go at sport, set themselves personal goals to achieve and make new friends, both human and equine.

Essential:
Desirable:
With no paid staff and every member of the team from trustees, to coaches, to helpers all being volunteers, everyone at Bradbourne RDA Group has chosen to join to make a difference and ensure each and every rider and carriage driver has the most positive, beneficial and enjoyable experience each time they come.
With ever increasingly busy lives and many of the volunteers who are interested to do so already doing extra activities over and above helping with a session of rides and carriage drives, it is not possible to take on additional initiatives or implement the range of ideas the Board has without over-committing existing helpers, without whom we cannot run rides and carriage drives.
With natural retirement of Trustees it is important the Board is strengthened with expertise from inside and outside of the Group to assist Bradbourne RDA to continue to flourish and undertake those activities and projects which will enhance its offering to disabled people from the local area for years to come.
Please apply through Reach first.
Informal correspondence through Reach then via email will follow, and an application form required to be completed for those shortlisted. A visit to site to meet the Chairman of Trustees and see a session in practice will be arranged.
