Welcome to Reach Volunteering. We are a community and registered charity that connects people, skills and good causes.

To apply for this role, and any other on our platform, you need to be based in the UK, have at least three years of experience using the skills you wish to volunteer in a professional capacity or have lived experience (for trustee roles). Read more about our criteria.

Home Leone's an amazing entrepreneurial charity building a new village in Sierra Leone. Fun team, huge impact. We have researched many UK Trusts and need someone to help make applications.

What will you be doing?

The purpose is to raise restricted and unrestricted funds.  We need one person to focus on projects and larger applications and another to work with the many small trusts that send smaller amounts.

The roles comprise

  • Building on the research and finding additional funders for our work
  • making enquiries of those who fund
  • consistently making applications on line and by post for unrestricted funds and projects
  • maintaining and developing our trusts database

You will work with our director responsible for fund raising and be supported by our founder and those in Sierra Leone with key information.

This role works from home wherever you are.  We would welcome what hours you are able to give and can focus on particular areas you are interested in.  We work flexibly such that we all help take the work forwards

What are we looking for?

Your office, bid writing, marketing and administrative skill are transferable for this role.  If you have trust fund raising/ proposal writing  experience and contacts that would be ideal but not essential.  To enjoy this work you will

  • be happy working at home and as part of team
  • like to write and communicate effectively
  • be happy to ring people, ask advice
  • be organised in work patterns
  • want to make a personal difference with a group making a significant impact
  • Like delivering funding goals with a purpose and enjoy celebrating success
  • Learn from difficulties and improve Home Leones professional approach
  • If you have digital graphic skills that would help but not essential (we have great video and pictures)

What difference will you make?

The money you raise is about enabling the poorest to make the most of a real opportunity.  So much aid drives dependency.  We are building something to endure.  Already, Home Leone has impacted a few thousand people with affordable homes, livelihood initiatives, education, healthcare and much more.  The vision is something that offers sustainable opportunity to each child, family, your and women.   Your fundraising activities will help us thrive and make our long term growth sustainable at a critical time.  Please be part of Home Leone as we:

create a unique, holistic, sustainable solution to Freetown’s horrific informal slums.

relocate people, by leading through the example, caring for the unloved, offering practical help. present to the world, a working relocation model, by releasing the people’s potential, building vital infrastructure, and empowering women; all in a compassionate environment.
