Join our friendly team of 8 trustees to help us continue to provide fun, social opportunities for young people with disabilities who rely on alternative ways to communicate.

What will you be doing?

We are ready to welcome a new Treasurer to our team of passionate and dedicated trustees. The day-to-day finance functions are all in hand. We are looking for someone to:

  • cast an eye over the charity’s funds
  • help ensure that robust and effective financial controls are in place
  • help prepare the charity’s annual budget
  • report on financial matters to the other trustees and charity’s members
  • assist with planning for the future as we look to grow

Lived-experience of disability and/or communication challenges would be a real bonus, but are not essential.

As we look to expand our network of regional branches and maximise the regularity of support to our members, we are particularly keen to welcome a treasurer who could advise on our fundraising strategy, help us keep processes streamlined, and maximise the use of our funds to reach new members.

What are we looking for?

Skills:

  • Professional accounting, finance or similar qualification
  • Good understanding of financial management and reporting
  • Experience in establishing or shaping out strategic goals

Qualities:

  • Clear communicator
  • Reliable, trustworthy
  • Team player

What difference will you make?

The role of Treasurer is so important to us - not only do we need someone to keep us on track financially and keep us viable, but even more significantly, we are looking for someone to help us formulate our vision for the future.
