The treasurer will be expected to attend board meetings which are 1 evening every quarter and finance committee meetings a minimum of 4 times per.

We have an exciting opportunity for an individual with extensive finance experience to join our Board of Trustees as our Treasurer.

Menstrual Health Project was founded in 2022 by endometriosis sufferers Anna and Gabz.

What will you be doing?

The role we would want a Treasurer to play as part of our board of trustees is to lead on creating, implementing and evolving financial processes to ensure as an organisation we can be utilise our funds in the best way so we can provide high quality resources and services for people accessing our charity. 

We would like someone who has a good understanding of the needs of a small but busy charity that needs hands on support to produce high quality work as this is one area of our organisation we have struggled to hit the ground running with since setting up. Along with supporting our Chair of Trustees, Founders and fundraising team with strategies to improve our financial status, increasing funds and generate income. 

What are we looking for?

  • Previous financial management experience – Essential  
  • Qualified accountant AAT Level 3 or equivalent – Desirable 
  • Previous charity accounting/finance support – Desirable 
  • Proven ability to communicate and explain financial information to members of the Board of Trustees and other stakeholders – Essential  
  • Ability to create accurate financial accounts for publication – Essential  
  • Knowledge and experience using different applications and software e.g. Microsoft, Xero/Quickbooks or similar – Essential  
  • Analytical and evaluation skills, demonstrating good judgement. 
  • Understanding and acceptance of the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship and the Treasurer role in particular. 
  • Good communication and leadership skills. 
  • Excellent organisational skills. 
  • Effective time and workload management. 
  • Good problem-solving skills. 
  • Great mathematical skills. 
  • Good written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to work as part of a team. 

We are seeking a motivated and committed person to support us in this role. Working in a small team, you will be supporting our Founders and Board of Trustees.
