The Treasurer of this Charity Opera Group plays a critical role in ensuring accurate financial records, managing the budget, and providing financial reports internally and to external auditors. As a Trustee they contribute to strategic discussions.

What will you be doing?

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate financial records, including income and expenditure tracking.
  • Prepare and present financial statements and reports to the committee.
  • Oversee the annual budget, ensuring funds are allocated effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with charity finance regulations, including annual returns.
  • Advise the committee on financial implications of decisions and long-term planning.
  • Work collaboratively with other trustees to support the charity's mission.

Time Commitment:Part-time, flexible hours.

Committee meetings are held on Zoom outside normal working hours - normally every 1-2 months.

What are we looking for?

  • Experience in financial management, bookkeeping, or accounting.
  • Knowledge of charity governance and financial regulations.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse board.

What difference will you make?

Our charitable objects are:

(a) to promote public education in, and appreciation of, baroque music (particularly baroque opera) through public concerts, study days and full-scale productions; and

(b) to encourage and provide an opportunity for amateur musicians to develop through participation in the performance and enjoyment of live performances of baroque music.
