As a treasurer, you play a vital role within the unit who meet every 6-8weeks. You will provide financial support, accurate record keeping and ensuring annual returns. 

What will you be doing?

Trowbridge Sea Cadets is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated treasurer to join its Unit Management Team (UMT).  We are a long-established Sea Cadet unit that has provided life-changing opportunities for many young people. We currently have approx. 40 cadets who come from all over the area.

The charity is currently looking for volunteers that can support with the financial management of the unit. There are free training courses available for you to develop new skills, boost your CV and support you in this role.

What are we looking for?

Previous money management experience is desirable but the right attitude and a passion for improving the lives of young people are essential. 

You have three years or more experience in management, financial or administrational roles with key skills or knowledge, such as:

  • Financial management / fundraising
  • General / operations management and administration
  • Education / safeguarding

Additionally

  • You are reliable, honest and trustworthy
  • You are a good communicator
  • You work effectively with a team
  • You are able to motivate and encourage others

The role of Treasurer is so important to us - not only do we need someone to keep us on track financially and keep us viable, but even more significantly, we are looking for someone to help us formulate our vision for the future.

You will also play a key role in making a positive difference to teenagers who are often struggling in today’s world and their communities.

All trustees will be required to undertake mandatory induction training, DBS (paid for by the Sea Cadets) and courses to support your own personal development within your role.
