What will you be doing?

As the Treasurer, you will play a vital role in overseeing Porthcawl Sea Cadets' financial health and governance.

Your expertise will ensure the organisation's funds are managed responsibly, supporting our mission to empower young people through nautical adventure and fun, based on the customs and traditions of today's Royal Navy.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintain oversight of the unit's financial records and ensure proper bookkeeping practices
  • Prepare and present financial reports, budgets and forecasts to the board and stakeholders
  • Monitor income and expenditure, ensuring funds are used effectively to support our activities
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, policies and reporting requirements
  • Support fundraising initiatives by providing financial insights and guidance
  • Work with other trustees to align financial strategies with our charity's goals

What are we looking for?

  • Professional or prior trustee experience in finance, accounting or a related field
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills
  • Familiarity with budgeting, financial reporting and compliance
  • Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders
  • Passionate about improving the lives of young people

What difference will you make?

You will help to ensure our charity's financial resources are managed effectively to support cadet programs.

You'll help to provide transparency and accountability in financial matters, fostering trust among stakeholders.

You'll enable our charity to plan and grow sustainably, helping us to continue to open our doors each week to young people and offering them life-changing opportunities and experiences.
