Welcome to Reach Volunteering. We are a community and registered charity that connects people, skills and good causes.

To apply for this role, and any other on our platform, you need to be based in the UK, have at least three years of experience using the skills you wish to volunteer in a professional capacity or have lived experience (for trustee roles). Read more about our criteria.

Warwickshire Gardens Trust works to record and conserve gardens and parks of outstanding quality. We wish to replace our Treasurer who be retiring shortly. The role is responsible for all aspects for the trust's financial management.

What will you be doing?

The role can be home based but with some meetings in Warwick or Leamington.

You will be working with the chair and other trustees and will also have the opportunity to meet other members of the trust at the social and other events we organise.

The key functions of the role are:

  1. Periodic reconciliation of entries on the bank account to cheque and paying in books.
  2. Liaising with the Trustees bank: managing electronic payments and accounts.
  3. Reporting to the quarterly committee meetings.
  4. Preparing an annual submission for Gift Aid.
  5. Preparing the annual accounts.
  6. Arranging for an audit and signing off the accounts.
  7. Reporting to the Annual General Meeting.

What are we looking for?

The role may suit a person with a book keeping or other financial background and an interest in garden history. A knowledge of Charity Commission requirements would be useful but not essential.

What difference will you make?

Your help and expertise will enable us to adapt and survive, to scope new possibilities, activities and ways of working.
