Do you have experience in financial management or as a Treasurer?

Southampton Sea Cadets are seeking a new Treasurer to join our Charity's Management Team!

What will you be doing?

As a Treasurer, you will play a vital role in overseeing Southampton Sea Cadets' financial health and governance.

Your expertise will ensure the organisation's funds are managed responsibly, supporting our mission to empower young people through nautical adventure and fun, based on the customs and traditions of today's Royal Navy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain oversight of the unit's financial records and ensure proper bookkeeping practices
  • Prepare and present financial reports, budgets and forecasts to the board and stakeholders
  • Monitor income and expenditure, ensuring funds are used effectively to support our activities
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, policies and reporting requirements
  • Support fundraising initiatives by providing financial insights and guidance
  • Work with other trustees to align financial strategies with our charity's goals

What are we looking for?

  • Professional or prior trustee experience in finance, accounting or a related field
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills
  • Familiarity with budgeting, financial reporting and compliance
  • Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders
  • Passionate about improving the lives of young people

You will help to ensure our charity's financial resources are managed effectively to support cadet programs.

You'll help to provide transparency and accountability in financial matters, fostering trust among stakeholders.

You'll enable our charity to plan and grow sustainably, helping us to continue to open our doors each week to young people and offering them life-changing opportunities and experiences.
