The Treasurer is arguably the most important Trustee role on the Board of the registered charity, BASIC. You will have responsibilities of financial oversight and supporting on financial related matters, providing assurance to stakeholders.

As the Treasurer for BASIC, you will play a crucial role in the organisation's financial leadership. Your responsibilities will include supporting the Executive team in maintaining robust financial controls, budget setting, comprehensive and accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. You will work closely with other Board members at quarterly Zoom Board meetings and chairing the quarterly Financial Development Committee.
In this volunteer role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the organisation's mission and planned growth by providing strategic financial insights. Your expertise will aid in decision-making processes, ensuring that financial resources are allocated efficiently to support the group's mission.
The Treasurer will collaborate with the leadership team, lending expert knowledge and support in key topic areas to help develop financial controls and processes. Ideally a professionally qualified accountant, attention to detail, financial acumen, and a commitment to the group's objectives are key qualities for success in this role.
Previous Board experience is not required as personal development training will be provided.
