What will you be doing?

As Treasurer, the role is voluntary and you will be a trustee of our CIO. You’ll oversee our charity’s finances, prepare an annual budget and deliver financial reports to the committee of trustees.

Our current treasurer is moving on to other volunteering in the group, after more years than he cares to admit!  He dedicates an hour to two hours a week to the role. What you’ll be doing:

  • Hands-on management of all our financial transactions
  • Advising the committee on financial strategy and planning
  • Supporting the membership officer by providing weekly updates on new/renewing members
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements for the statutory accounts
  • Regular attendance at monthly committee meetings in person or online, delivering financial reports
  • Preparing and delivering the annual financial statement to members at the AGM and submitting it to the Charity Commission

We’d love someone with:

  • Experience and knowledge of accounting and financial management
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Good at team work
  • Passion for making a difference to the environment and wildlife and supporting our cause

What you’ll gain:

  • The chance to make a direct impact for our organisation
  • An opportunity to shape and support our charity’s future
  • The satisfaction of contributing to a great cause alongside a friendly can-do team of trustees and a great bunch of volunteers

What are we looking for?

We need someone with strong financial management and accountancy experience and knowledge including hands-on book-keeping; good communication and negotiating skills; someone who works in a timely and accurate way; and a team worker who has an affinity with wildlife and environmental issues,

What difference will you make?

Working with the team of trustees, you'll play a leading role in shaping the activities and direction of this small but influential charity.  You'll have a real impact by managing our finances cost-efficiently and you'll have opportunities to get hands-on experience of wildlife rescue and rehabilitation.
