Citizens Advice Surrey Heath is an independent local charity seeking a financial professional to lead our financial strategy and ensure our long-term sustainability.

What will you be doing?

Managing our finances effectively is key to the continuation of our organisation and we currently need a committed individual to lead our financial strategy and ensure our long-term sustainability. As a key member of our Board, and Treasurer you'll play a vital role in guiding our financial health.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified finance professional, ideally with some charity experience
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Passion for making a positive impact

What are we looking for?

Skills/experience required 

We're looking for a finance professional, ideally with some knowledge or experience of charity finances. Other skills you'll need to demonstrate include:

  • understand and accept the responsibilities and liabilities as trustees
  • have financial qualifications and experience 
  • the ability to analyse proposals and examine their financial consequences
  • the ability to explain complex financial information in an accessible way
  • the ability to exercise good independent judgement and contribute to Board discussions and where necessary to make difficult recommendations
  • be non-judgmental and respect views, values and cultures that are different to your own and work effectively as part of a team
  • have good listening, verbal and written communication skills
  • the ability to work to timetables and deadlines
  • a keen interest to learn about and follow the Citizens Advice aims, principles and policies and undertake appropriate training to fulfil the role of a Trustee
