Welcome to Reach Volunteering. We are a community and registered charity that connects people, skills and good causes.

To apply for this role, and any other on our platform, you need to be based in the UK, have at least three years of experience using the skills you wish to volunteer in a professional capacity or have lived experience (for trustee roles). Read more about our criteria.

We're seeking a volunteer Treasurer to join the Trustee Board of Nailsea & District Community Transport to ensure the financial health and transparency of the organisation.

What will you be doing?

Volunteer Treasurer – Nailsea & District Community Transport (NDCT)

The Treasurer plays a vital role in ensuring the financial health and transparency of our organisation, working alongside the Chair and fellow Trustees to support effective decision-making, safeguard our funds, and ensure we meet our legal and financial responsibilities.

You will help us by maintaining oversight of our finances, reviewing monthly financial reports (prepared using Xero), updating forecasts, and liaising with our accountants. You'll also support the team in reviewing budgets for grant applications, funding bids, and year-end accounts. Your advice will help guide financial decisions as we work towards a sustainable future.

As Trustee Board meetings are held in person, attendance in person will be required. Trustees meet on the 2nd Tuesday afternoon of each month.

A strong and engaged board of trustees is key to the success of NDCT, and we expect trustees to play a key role in supporting the following priorities:

  • To secure long-term funding for the longevity of the organisation which provides a vital service to the community.
  • To move away from diesel operated vehicles and operate a green fleet of vehicles.
  • To secure our own premises from which to operate, to avoid rising landlord rents.

We want to recruit someone who is passionate about helping the elderly and vulnerable in our community, to join our Committee of trustees and Council representatives. Our existing trustees are willing to support our new member. We are a not-for-profit organisation heavily supported by committed volunteers and have been running for 30 years.

What are we looking for?

Someone from an accounting or financial management background

What difference will you make?

As part of our board you will support and shape our work and strategic direction, as well as help us achieve our purpose to provide Community Transport to older, disabled and socially isolated residents in the north of North Somerset.

The role of Treasurer is so important to us - not only do we need someone to keep us on track financially and keep us viable, but even more significantly, we are looking for someone to help us formulate our vision for the future.

Before you apply

Please apply through Reach in the first instance. Candidates will be asked to complete our additional application form.
