Welcome to Reach Volunteering. We are a community and registered charity that connects people, skills and good causes.

To apply for this role, and any other on our platform, you need to be based in the UK, have at least three years of experience using the skills you wish to volunteer in a professional capacity or have lived experience (for trustee roles). Read more about our criteria.

Supporting a grassroots music and theatre organisation in the management of finance and financial planning.

What will you be doing?

An eye for figures?

Wrexham Music & Theatre Society (WMTS) believe that everyone should be able to enjoy and engage in the arts. Through education and entertainment by and for the community, we develop public appreciation in the arts in Wrecsam.

We are looking for a finance trustee to join a friendly and dynamic board. The right candidate should have but not exclusively, a background in accounting or financial management in the charity or non-profit sector.

The finance trustee will provide support to the board, including producing and maintaining clear accounts; produce high-quality and timely annual statements and financial reports plus forecasting and financial planning.

In addition, the finance trustee will be engaged in all aspects of the work of the organisation, will attend regular two-hour board meetings and an annual general meeting.

What are we looking for?

The right candidate should have but not exclusively, a background in accounting or financial management in the charity or non-profit sector.

The finance trustee will provide support to the board, including producing and maintaining clear accounts; produce high-quality and timely annual statements and financial reports plus forecasting and financial planning.

What difference will you make?

Though an eclectic bunch, many of our board members are current or former beneficiaries of WMTS from its past, with the majority of our "talents" emerging primarily onstage or in planning productions. Bringing your financial expertise, and of course an artistic eye if applicable, will enable us to ensure that we not only stick to our artistic vision, but also our financial forecasts. WMTS has always been open to people of all abilities, especially those who don't believe themselves to have abilities. Your contribution will directly help some of the most isolated and vulnerable in Wrexham to "find their tribe" and possibly "find their voice".
