Welcome to Reach Volunteering. We are a community and registered charity that connects people, skills and good causes.

To apply for this role, and any other on our platform, you need to be based in the UK, have at least three years of experience using the skills you wish to volunteer in a professional capacity or have lived experience (for trustee roles). Read more about our criteria.

Join an innovative organisation tackling refugee homelessness and support the growth and management of our volunteer team.

What will you be doing?

RootsMove is a new organisation that supports refugees in the UK to access and improve their housing.

As a new organisation, volunteers are the lifeblood of what we do. Our steering committee is a vital function of the organisation, providing strategic oversight and supporting key projects within the organisation.

We are looking for a Treasurer to join our steering committee for a minimum term of 2 years.

The treasurer will be responsible for managing the organisation’s accounts, budget and annual reporting requirements, with support from the co-directors.

We’re looking for an individual with the time available to really commit to this role, as well as the drive and enthusiasm to make this role their own.

We want to give back to our steering committee, so we will ensure that there are growth and development opportunities for the volunteer coordinator as part of this role

The time commitment will be up to 3 hours per week and the volunteering term will be for 2 years, with the opportunity to extend.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for someone that can demonstrate the below:

  • Knowledge of and previous experience in a non-profit treasurer role
  • Good understanding of finance and treasury activities, including banking, cash and liquidity management
  • Strong systems/technology skill set
  • Self-starter mentality
  • Care for and commitment to the work we do at RootsMove

What difference will you make?

The treasurer will be at the heart of our impact, as they will be responsible for overseeing our funding and financial resources, which enable us to function and grow as an organisation.

Before you apply

Please submit an application through Reach.

Grace from RootsMove will then contact you to set up an online call to discuss the opportunity. In that call, we will explain more about the organisation and the role, and will ask you some questions about your experience. You will also get a chance to ask us any questions you have.
