One In Four London is looking for a new treasurer to join our board of trustees.

What will you be doing?

One in Four is a charity providing specialist support for survivors of sexual abuse, domestic abuse or violence in childhood or as adults. We provide long-term recovery through counselling programmes, advocacy support through the criminal justice system, post-counselling workshops for survivors along with a range of publications for survivors, friends and families, and professionals.

We deliver training for counsellors, teachers and support staff, social workers and other mental health professionals to advance the knowledge, education and training of those working with survivors.

The role of the treasurer will be to

- Monitor the financial standing of the charity and report to the Board regarding cash-flow forecasting, income streams, out-going expenses and the overarching strategic management of the organisation’s financial resources.

- Oversee the charity’s financial risk-management process and report financial health to the Board of Trustees at regular intervals.

- Act as a counter signatory for on-line payments and applications to funders, and ensure that annual accounts are submitted to all relevant regulators in a timely fashion.

- Liaise with external auditors on financial issues and ensure that the organisation’s finances are responsibly managed and invested for the betterment of the organisation’s work and for the beneficiaries it serves.

  • A team-oriented approach to problem solving and to management.

What difference will you make?

This past year has been one of both challenges and triumphs. The demand for our services has grown, and we have risen to the occasion with expanded counselling programmes, outreach initiatives, and a continued commitment to raising awareness. We have provided thousands of hours of trauma-informed therapy, helping survivors reclaim their lives and break the silence surrounding their experiences.

We have also strengthened our advocacy efforts, working with policymakers and communities to improve safeguarding measures and to challenge the stigma surrounding survivors. This work is essential in creating a future where every survivor feels safe and supported, and where prevention is prioritised.

As a Trustee, you’ll work closely with an inspiring and dedicated team.

By helping guide a charity that directly impacts people's lives, you'll see firsthand the powerful difference your experience and contributions make.
