What will you be doing?

BHN are looking for a person willing to bring energy, enthusiasm and commitment to the role and who will broaden the diversity of thinking on our Board.

You do not need previous governance experience – we will provide a full induction and training.

A full list of duties can be found in the attached candidate pack.

  • Regular online meetings with the external accountants.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who has the following skills and experience:

Essential

  • A finance professional with experience of bookkeeping standards, financial controls and processes, annual accounts production, budgeting and cash flow forecasting.
  • Clear communicator with the ability to bring the financial information alive to non-finance specialists.
  • Willing to play an active role in areas such as forecasting, setting budgets, liaising with auditors.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of Charity accounting and SORP.
  • Supervising or mentoring people.

What difference will you make?

The role of Treasurer is crucial in ensuring that we continue to fulfil our mission with transparency, integrity, and sound financial management. Our trustee board decisions are guided by members with lived experience, ensuring that as an organisation we are better able to understand our members’ needs. As Treasurer you will play a key role ensuring that the board are fully aware of our financial position and more able to explore opportunities to expand our range of services. - James Collett, Vice-Chair.
