Join our playful Board that works to support playworkers and children's play across the UK

What will you be doing?

An eye for figures?

The Playwork Foundation is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) that aims to be a collective voice for playwork, supporting playworkers.

Our mission is to promote playwork and its guiding principles. We provide opportunities for playworkers to come together, nurture dialogue, empower each other and take collective action in support of every child’s right to play.

We are looking for a finance trustee to join a friendly and dynamic board. The right candidate should have but not exclusively, a background in accounting or financial management in the charity or non-profit sector.

The finance trustee will provide support to the board, including producing and maintaining clear accounts; produce high-quality and timely annual statements and financial reports plus forecasting and financial planning.

In addition, the finance trustee will be engaged in all aspects of the work of the organisation, will attend regular two-hour board meetings and an annual open meeting.

What difference will you make?

Playworkers are the only profession whose sole aim is to advocate for children's right to play, and to extend their play whenever and wherever possible. As David Lloyd George put it: "The right to play is a child's first claim on the community. Play is nature's training for life. No community can infringe that right without doing deep and enduring harm to the minds and bodies of its citizens" - by support our work, you will help improve the wellbeing of communities across the UK.
