The Friends support Essex County Council in looking after this heritage site with its 13th-century barns and  Tudor walled garden and orchards.  They make a visible difference to the appearance of the site and its enjoyment by visitors.

What will you be doing?

Our current treasurer has moved out of the area and we urgently need a replacement.  We have proved financially successful beyond our expectations, with a turnover now of about £30,000.  The treasurer's role is crucial in enabling the payment of expenses, mainly related to the work of the gardeners, and dealing with sales to the public, mainly of plants.  The treasurer also has a company secretary role dealing with the Charity Commission.

What are we looking for?

The skills required are general financial management, including familiarity with credit card payment systems.  Financial reports have to be presented to committee meetings held about every 3 months.

What difference will you make?

The work of the treasurer is essential for the smooth running of our charity.  Without a treasurer overseeing the finances, we would not be able to function
