Role Purpose
Specific to the Treasurer role
Full training and support is available for the duties mentioned above.
Time commitment
Board meetings are usually held monthly, out of normal working hours. In addition, there may be sub-committees to attend where appropriate. Papers for meetings are circulated five working days in advance.
Outside of board and committee meetings, Directors are asked to represent the Centre at events and champion the work of the Centre and RDA to their contacts and networks. In addition, staff sometimes consult with Directors on particular subjects and there are opportunities for Directors to attend project meetings and events.
The Treasurer role has additional duties and will on average require 4-6 hours per week to complete these duties.

Specific skills, experience or knowledge
The Treasurer needs to be a qualified accountant that has experience in a senior or managerial role within a small to medium sized company. Good overall business knowledge will also be beneficial.
The Board of Directors play a vital role as custodians of the charity, each member of the Board must have a unique skill set that collectively can offer the Centre it's best possible chance of not only long term survival but to think big and help the Centre achieve it's vision to be a progressive community based around horses, providing life enhancing opportunities to people with additional needs.
The Treasurer has a very specific and important role within the Board. It is an all encompassing and influential role and is essential to ensure that effective financial systems and procedures have been established, are being consistently followed and are in line with best practice and legal requirements.
