Welcome to Reach Volunteering. We are a community and registered charity that connects people, skills and good causes.

To apply for this role, and any other on our platform, you need to be based in the UK, have at least three years of experience using the skills you wish to volunteer in a professional capacity or have lived experience (for trustee roles). Read more about our criteria.

Passionate about the environment? Skilled communicator? Proactive and well-organised?

We're a growing and well-functioning happy team who are passionate about promoting assemblies to show how things can be done differently in politics!

What will you be doing?

The Team Connector ensures:

  • That UK Assemblies is represented in a wider team, and aware of that team’s work and priorities
  • Representing the mandate of the team within meetings of a wider team, and asking another member of the team to attend when they’re not available
  • Communicating the plan and work of a wider team to the team
  • Reporting on the health of the UK Assemblies team to a wider team
  • Taking issues that can’t be resolved in the team to a wider team
  • Exchanging information with other teams (not their own sub-teams) where this is not already being done by link roles

What are we looking for?

You will have a minimum of 3 years comms experience. Experience in managing teams is useful and preferable. However, we can mentor and train you until you feel confident in the role.

Essential:

  • Proactive, organised and a good communicator verbally and written.
  • Experience of team coordination / management.

Desirable:

  • An understanding of the importance of deliberative democracy and the assemblies process.
  • A willingness to learn.

What difference will you make?

We are seeking someone to take on the role of Team Connector [referred to as External Coordinator in XR] to represent the UK Assemblies team within the wider XRUK movement.

Your input will help communicate the UK Assemblies team work and updates to the wider XRUK movement and support us by feeding relevant information from XRUK back into the team.

The process of communicating information between teams is done by posting updates and attending meetings to give verbal updates.

More widely, you'll be contributing to help bring positive change for the grassroots on climate change and ecological justice.

Before you apply

We're a happy team, passionate about promoting assemblies to get things done differently in politics!

There are three different types of assemblies - to understand the difference between Citizens’, Community and People’s assemblies.
