We are looking for volunteers to teach/assist in running our cadet training programme.
As an Instructor, you will deliver or assist in running lessons, activities, games, projects and events with our cadets. Whatever your experience and skills, they could be utilised to help young people flourish – boating, engineering, catering, navigation, first aid, STEM - there is no limit. Whatever your interest, you could bring it to support our cadets. Our cadets are 10 - 17 and are from all walks of life.
You could share your skills on the water with the next generation through the opportunity to teach water sports such as kayaking, sailing, powerboating, canoeing, rowing and windsurfing. If you don’t have any water sports qualifications, we’ll provide you with all the equipment, training and the opportunity to gain qualifications with the Royal Yachting Association (RYA), for example.
If you have three years or more, of professional experience in positions with skills or knowledge such as:

Many variations of skills and knowledge areas can be useful to our unit, but the right attitude and a passion for improving the lives of young people are a must. Boating experience is helpful but not essential as our programme of activities varies. If you think you are a match for the skills and knowledge and you could make a difference, please get in touch.
The Cadets are proven to enhance lives, and you could be a part of it. Unlike the Army and Air Cadets, we are 100% self-funded and operate within our own framework. We offer qualifications that the young people can take with them for life, and many would never have the chance. Many of our cadets come from challenging backgrounds, but we never turn a cadet away. We are about showing every young person the breadth of opportunities available, and we'd love to have more people helping us.
