Join us in our RAISE Programme. Provide advocacy, practical support, and integration opportunities for asylum-seekers, focusing on education, skill-building, and community empowerment. Help individuals gain independence and thrive.

What will you be doing?

As the Strategic Asylum Seeker Support Manager, you will play a key role in supporting individuals and families placed in Croydon by the Home Office while their asylum claims are processed. You will also guide those who have received their asylum decisions, helping them navigate critical next steps, such as housing applications and employment preparation.

The project runs:

  • Mondays and Fridays: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM
  • Tuesday evenings: 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM

This dynamic hub offers a welcoming and flexible space for asylum seekers, providing:

  • Housing guidance
  • Employment preparation
  • Support for post-asylum decision planning
  • Practical trade skills training (plumbing, electrical)
  • Informal ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) support

You will ensure the smooth operation of the hub, liaise with local organisations like Croydon Council and REED, and signpost to relevant services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide information, advice, and guidance to individuals and families.
  • Facilitate access to resources and services for housing and employment.
  • Coordinate activities and support sessions at the hub.
  • Signpost asylum seekers to relevant local organisations and services.
  • Support the delivery of informal ESOL sessions and practical skills training.
