Do you have the skills to help us grow and develop? As a trustee at St Faith's you'd be part of our project to improve the service we offer in our diverse area of South London, helping us go further to address deprivation and embrace diversity.

What will you be doing?

We need trustees with complementary skills to the existing board. In particular we need expertise in human resource management and fundraising. We'd also benefit from further help with marketing and project management. And we're always looking for people who want to engage with all aspects of the local community.

Human resources management:
We are currently recruiting a new manager and community workers. Could you help us with onboarding, role definition, performance measurement and personal development?
We are setting up a volunteer programme. Could you help us with leading a programme the makes volunteering fun and ensures volunteers grow, gain skills and build up an effective CV while also supporting local organisations and needs?

We have an exciting plan for extending and refitting our premises. Could you help us secure the right backers? We are always looking to grow services. Could you help us secure funding for salaries?

We need to raise our profile and build alliances with voluntary sector organisations in Southwark and Lambeth, with local businessesand with all of the local community. Could you help us develop and implement an effective programme of communication and engagement?

Project management:
Once funding is in place, we will have a major building project to deliver. Could you help us take it from plans to completion? We have recently acquired a building which we intend to develop as a source of income and as a holiday/ refuge for people in need. Could you help us make it a reality?

What are we looking for?

You will need a passion for community, an interest in working in a very diverse area of inner London, a willingness to engage with any and all parts of the local population.

You will need to be someone who wants to invest some time, with a focus on getting tangible things done.

You will need to bring specific skills which can complement and extend us.

You do not necessarily need to be local to South London. Maybe you work in London and live elsewhere, but want to be involved in a project in an urban environment.

You do not need any specific qualifications or experience.

You will be working with a small group of existing trustees with longstanding commitment to the project and the local area, and have the opportunity to interact with a wide range of user group leaders who invest their time and energy in supporting and meeting the needs of all sorts of local demographics.

What difference will you make?

This is an opportunity to help grow a longstanding organisation, to fully meet our charitable objectives, and to make a significant difference to many local people.

St Faith's:

- provides activities for young children

- offers a range of leisure clubs and activities

- helps address food poverty

- helps counter addiction

- works to combat isolation and loneliness

- supports those with learning disability

- supports education and literacy

- helps keep people physically and socially active

You have the opportunity to help us take that significantly further, by improving how we work as an organisation and what we offer. Your contribution could be to help shape the operations of the whole organisation, or to focus on building up a specific service for a specific group. Our community is very diverse, and pretty much every imaginable need exists here. St Faith's aspires to be the local go-to location for social and community needs. You could help make that happen.

What's in it for the volunteer?

This is an opportunity to use your existing skills, and some of your time and passion, to make a real tangible difference in community. Maybe you have corporate skills and want to direct them to making a difference? Maybe you have already worked with one area of community need and want to stretch out to engage with other demographics. As a cornerstone of our local area, St Faith's provides an opportunity to engage with an incredibly wide range of issues and needs. We hope you will find a real sense of achievement and personal fulfillment here, and the satisfaction of knowing that your work and energy has improved lives.
