This project is results based. Once the website has been updated further requirements will be subject to negotiation.

Help us engage a wider audience by devising a compelling social media strategy and creating content that will drive service users to and promote our new project website.

What will you be doing?

Our LitterNet project is a cross sector network set up to bring people together, change behaviour around litter and help cut the flow of single use plastic into the ocean. We are looking for an experienced social media marketer to work with us to improve our communications.

We would like the volunteer to:

  • Perform a social media audit: assess the current state of our social media pages and make recommendations on how we might improve our presence and engagement and where we might focus our efforts.
  • Help us engage our service users by creating a compelling social media strategy
  • Include content so that we can effectively promote our current project
  • Produce examples of fresh and engaging content for our social media channels

You will be working with one of our trustees who will provide any background material you will need.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a volunteer who:

  • Has a basic understanding of climate issues
  • Has experience of writing and editing marketing content across all platforms
  • Has experience of building strategies to increase social media following
  • Has experience of creating content calendars to help plan social media activity
  • Has the ability to quickly understand the needs of our organisation
  • Can ask key questions to enable us to clarify requirements
  • Understands the resource constraints of a small charity and can work within these

What difference will you make?

Your input will make a radical difference to the amount of traffic driven to our new project website. It will transform how we present ourselves to our service users, stakeholders, funders and general public and make the project that much more sustainable.

What's in it for the volunteer?

This would give you the opportunity to experiment and stretch your skills in a real world setting. You would become part of our small, friendly team, using your time to make a real difference in difficult times and to contribute your ideas to help inform and educate the wider public.
