We're a support network for ethnic minority women and non-binary cyclists, and we're looking for someone to help us grow our public profile via our Instagram account.

What will you be doing?

We'd like to raise our public profile and are looking for a social media volunteer to join our comms team to help us achieve that aim. You'll receive mentorship and guidance from a marketing professional, as well as all the benefits that come from membership of WCCC*, such as free training. As carrying out this role would mean access to our community, we are seeking someone who meets our entry criteria, that is a woman or non-binary person with an interest in cycling.

We're looking for someone familiar with Canva, who can help source and create visual and audiovisual content for our Instagram feed and schedule posts.

There is a lot of scope to mould and shape the role to your skills and strengths beyond those basic criteria.

Our Instagram account isn't very active at the moment, and as a guide, we're looking to increase our output to no more than one post a week to start with. This should give an idea of how light the time commitment we're asking for is.

What are we looking for?

  • Experience in Social Media Management: Prior experience in managing social media for a brand/organisation, including personal projects
  • Creativity and Design Skills: Experience in using design software such as Canva to create engaging visuals. A good eye for aesthetics and visual composition is crucial
  • Adaptability and Trend Awareness: Keeping up with relevant social media influencers and trends, and adapting our content accordingly
  • Passion for the Cause: A genuine interest in and commitment to our mission of supporting womxn cyclists from global majority backgrounds and more generally to raising the profile of such people in the outdoors

What difference will you make?

We're looking for someone to basically put us on the map. Your contribution will help us reach out to potential new members, donors and sponsorship partners.
