Opportunity description

Griot is new to social media.  We have set up an easyfundraising crowdfunding page and need someone to generate funding which we think will include the following which are open to negotiation.
 

The role

We are new to social media and have very limited knowledge of all things digital and this is why we are looking for someone with social media marketing experience who could:

 

  • advise us of the best way to get members of the public to buy through our portal
  • promote our sugar debating project to people who buy online so that it becomes their default online purchase portal
  • use Twitter and Facebook to recruit online buyers to go through our portal
  • advise us on achievable targets for funds raised over a specified period of time
  • write press releases to promote the sugar debates and support needed via our portal
  • advise us generally on how to fundraise substantial amounts
  • deliver oodles of patience and commitment to helping Griot generate crowdfunding of £1000 in by 29 March 2017

Person description

We are looking for someone with social media marketing experience (at least three years)

We are looking for a volunteer who will promote our crowdfunding site to people who buy online and recruit them to buy through our fundraising portal at:

As people spend, small amounts are donated to our account by the retailers they buy from.  It costs buyers nothing.

Your availability can be totally flexible. You may have full time commitments and could do this in the evenings and/or at weekends. On completion we would be happy to provide a reference outlining the work you did and the targets you achieved.

What impact the opportunity will have

Your commitment would enable Griot  to generate crowdfunding of £1000 in by 29 March 2017.

The volunteer will advise us of their availability and the number of hours to be worked will be agreed mutually.

This is an opportunity to make a real difference to a very small charity with very little understanding of the mechanics of social media but with a great need to exploit it to resource the work we want to deliver to some of the most marginalised people in our local community.
