Welcome to Reach Volunteering. We are a community and registered charity that connects people, skills and good causes.

To apply for this role, and any other on our platform, you need to be based in the UK, have at least three years of experience using the skills you wish to volunteer in a professional capacity or have lived experience (for trustee roles). Read more about our criteria.

Tiger Bay and the World, The Heritage and Cultural Exchange, is a community Heritage Charity based in Cardiff. We are looking for a volunteer to manage our Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter pages.

What will you be doing?

We are looking for an experienced social media manager to increase our reach and improve the impact of our social media presence. This role can be done remotely but will require you to be in close contact with our team based in Cardiff.

One of our Trustees currently looks after our social media at the moment but is happy to share the load.

If you would be interested in adding other media or initiatives, e.g. a blog, we are definitely interested, so let us know your interests!

What are we looking for?

Skills we are looking for:

  • Proficiency in social media platforms: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.
  • Experience with social media strategy: Demonstrated ability to create and implement effective social media plans.
  • Content creation skills: Ability to create engaging and relevant content tailored to each platform.
  • Communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication to interact with our audience effectively.
  • Analytical skills: Ability to track and interpret social media metrics to refine strategies.
  • Creative thinking: Innovative ideas for content and engagement strategies.
  • Passion for our cause: Enthusiasm for our mission and the desire to make a positive impact.

What difference will you make?

As a social media volunteer, your contributions will be essential in helping us connect with our supporters and bring awareness of our work to the wider community. Through the development and execution of targeted social media strategies, you will enhance our visibility, allowing us to reach more people who can benefit from our services or contribute to our cause. Social media is also important to us as a tool for recruitment of volunteers, and as our projects progress we will be using social media to promote our resources.

Before you apply

Please apply through Reach in the first instance. Shortlisted candidates will be asked to complete our additional application form
