You will work with a team of volunteers to write our social media content.

We're looking for a social media manager and content creator to join our Communications team to help us reach more people.

Our mission is to create inclusive environments where every child, regardless of their racial or cultural background, can thrive and develop resilience. Our initiatives include educational workshops, mentoring programs, and research endeavors. Through these activities, we aim to create inclusive spaces, break down stereotypes, and empower individuals to navigate challenges related to race, identity, and mental health. Afrikindness also actively engages in community awareness campaigns, collaborating with schools, parents, and local organizations to create a more harmonious and understanding society.

What we are looking for

We need someone who is proficient in using social media (Instagram, Tiktok, Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook) to help us increase our reach in the local area and nationally.

Main responsibilities

  • Content Creation and Curation:
    • Develop, design, and publish engaging content across various social media platforms. Create contents for social media to include reels. Managing Instagram, Tiktok and Facebook platforms. 
    • Curate relevant content from other sources to share with the audience, ensuring it aligns with the brand’s voice and strategy. Stay up-to-date with social media trends and best practices to ensure maximum effectiveness.
  • Community Engagement and Interaction:
    • Monitor social media channels for customer inquiries, comments, and mentions.
    • Skilled in SEO optimisation, Facebook and Instagram ads
    • Respond to comments and messages promptly, fostering a positive community and addressing any issues or feedback.
  • Analytics and Strategy Development:
    • Track and analyze performance metrics of social media campaigns and posts.
    • Use data-driven insights to adjust strategies, optimize content, and report on the effectiveness of social media initiatives.

Skills

  • Proven skilled experience managing social media platforms, and a keen interest and knowledge of social media marketing especially ads and SEO optimisation
  • Content creation - especially reels.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent written communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Creative mindset and ability to produce engaging content relevant to our cause.
