Amplify PrettyPowerful’s voice online as our Social Media Coordinator! Create engaging content that drives awareness and support for our mission to uplift women of colour, helping us grow our online presence and connect with a wider audience.

What will you be doing?

As a Social Media Coordinator, you’ll be responsible for developing and executing social media strategies that promote PrettyPowerful’s mission and engage our community. Key tasks include:

  • Content Creation: Develop posts, visuals, and stories for our social media platforms that highlight our programs, events, and the achievements of our community members.
  • Engagement: Respond to comments, messages, and engage with followers to create a supportive and interactive online environment.
  • Campaigns: Collaborate on awareness campaigns relevant to our work, such as mental health, diversity, and employment equity, to amplify our message and expand our reach.

You’ll work with the Marketing Lead and Program Director, with some flexibility to introduce new ideas that enhance our presence. This role is ideal for someone creative who is passionate about digital storytelling and community building.

What are we looking for?

  • Content Creation
    • Skilled in creating engaging and visually appealing content for social media (posts, stories, videos).
    • Ability to create posts that resonate with the audience and reflect the organisation’s mission and values.
  • Social Media Management
    • Familiar with major social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn) and scheduling tools.
    • Knowledge of social media best practices, trends, and strategies to grow audience engagement.
  • Copywriting Skills
    • Excellent written communication for crafting captions, messages, and responses that are clear and engaging.
  • Community Engagement
    • Ability to foster an interactive, supportive community by engaging with followers and responding to comments and messages.
  • Brand Awareness
    • Understanding of how to maintain brand consistency and tone across all social media content.
  • Analytics and Reporting
    • Knowledge of social media analytics to monitor, assess, and improve content performance.
  • Creativity and Adaptability
    • Creative mindset for generating fresh content ideas and adaptable to evolving trends.
  • Team Collaboration
    • Works well with team members to align content with overall marketing and event goals.
  • Time Management
    • Able to manage and plan content in advance to ensure consistent posting and engagement.
