Secretary and trustee  needed for small UK based charity working to alleviate poverty in North East Ghana by supporting children into school. 

What will you be doing?

Looking to use your skills to help provide disadvantaged children with a brighter future? We’re recruiting for a new secretary and trustee to support with the running of our small but highly effective charity which provides impoverished children from North East Ghana with the uniform and equipment needed for primary school.

You'll help to ensure the smooth and efficient running of our trustee meetings and you'll also be responsible for monitoring the charities legal responsibilities,ensuring that trustees carry out all actions assigned to them by Executive Committee. 

What are we looking for?

Person specification:

  • Administrative experience. 
  • Good listening, oral and literacy skills.
  • Knowledge of the law and best practice relating to English charities.
  • Good written English.
  • Confident in contributing to discussions.
  • Ability to keep accurate records.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • An understanding of data protection and confidentiality.

What difference will you make?

Working as part of a friendly, passionate team of trustees with a can do approach you’ll be helping to make a real difference to the livelihoods of young children born into labouring families by supporting them with the necessary equipment and uniform to attend school. We work closely with our partner team, Lovey Foundation Ghana who select children to go to school and also liaise with local communities, in Bawku District, North East Ghana to raise the importance of education.
