You will be required to meet once every term (3 times a year) from 5pm on a Tuesday and a further 3 times a year on an allocated sub-committee.

We are currently recruiting a Co-opted Governor to join our Governing Body.

What will you be doing?

The skills we require of our governors include:

  • A practical and professional approach to problem solving
  • The confidence to ask questions and join in with discussion objectively
  • A willingness to listen, process information and make informed judgements
  • To work well with others and become a valued member of the team
  • Capacity to dedicate their time to support the school community

Finance, HR, Risk Management, Safeguarding, Data Analysis and experience with SEND, are all areas that would support our collective skills bank.  Previous educational experience is beneficial but not essential.

Meeting Requirements:

  • The full governing body is required to meet once every term (3 times a year) from 5pm on a Tuesday. 
  • The team is then allocated into committees, based on individual's preferences and skill sets. 
  • Committees also meet separately once a term (a further 3 times a year).  Our current committees are:
  • Stonehill Nursery (federated with Dale Primary School)
  • Strategy
  • Standards
  • Behaviour and Safety
  • Finance and Personnel

Many of our current Governors are in full time employment and manage their commitment to the governing body around their existing responsibilities.  We also welcome retirees, part time workers or anyone with the skills and passion for the job.
