We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Safeguarding Officer to join our counselling service. The Safeguarding Officer will be responsible for ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our clients, staff, and volunteers. 

What will you be doing?

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Safeguarding Officer to join our counselling service. The Safeguarding Officer will be responsible for ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our clients, staff, and volunteers. This role involves developing, implementing, and monitoring safeguarding policies and procedures, providing training and advice, and managing safeguarding concerns and referrals.

What are we looking for?

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Significant experience in safeguarding, preferably within a counselling or similar setting.
  • A thorough understanding of relevant safeguarding legislation and guidance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A commitment to promoting the welfare of vulnerable adults.

What difference will you make?

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and reviewing safeguarding policies and procedures in line with current legislation and best practice.
  • Providing training and support to staff and volunteers on safeguarding matters.
  • Managing safeguarding concerns and referrals, including conducting risk assessments and liaising with external agencies.
  • Maintaining accurate and confidential records of safeguarding incidents.
  • Promoting a culture of safeguarding awareness and best practice within the organisation.
