We have a number of exciting large scale projects currently on the horizon in London and the surrounds. We are looking to build a new fundraising project team to specifically work solely on high income events to fundraise for each project in turn.
We hope to build a skilled team of volunteers to support with the planning and implementation of large annual existing events in the Thames region, as well as scope new possibilities for fundraising and engagement, both events and activities, with a view to creating and planning one large annual event.
This would involve the team managing – with support as required from central staff – all elements of holding a large event, from planning to delivery, resource, risk and budget management and evaluation.
The first project will be to raise £50k towards the relocation of the Chiswick Lifeboat Station. This is our second busiest station in the UK, and the new location, in Wandsworth, will ensure we are well placed for the majority of our “shouts"
Ideally candidates will have strong communication skills with a commitment to working collaboratively and inclusively and share our ethos and values. We’d love to hear from people with project management, events management or budget management experience, but we’d welcome applications from people with strong organisational and communication skills looking to gain project management and events experience.
The time commitment is likely to be 3-4 hours per week in general, with the period around the event itself requiring closer to 6-8 hours per week. This can be very flexible.
Ideally you will have experience of working on large scale events, project management, fundraising or income generation. A strong communicator with a commitment to working inclusively and collaboratively
Different skills and experience are required for different roles within the team and to ensure balance
As part of a newly formed team you will be fundraising at scale for a specific project - one which you'll be able to be closely connected to, with frequent updates on the new station's progress as well as close contact with the operational crew and lifeboat station manager. This means you will be able to see first hand the impact of the time you give and genuinely feel a part of the RNLI crew.
